My name is Tara and I’m a twenty two year old graduate from Arizona State University. After graduation this past May I realized I had no intention of getting an office job just yet and I had an itch to live somewhere opposite of Tempe, Arizona… This is how I ended up in Telluride, Colorado. Although Arizona is only a few hours away from Colorado, I had never been to this gorgeous state. I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into. I was moving from a city of a few million people to a tiny town of 2,000. And did you know that all it does here during the winter is SNOW? A year ago I was studying for finals poolside and getting sun burnt. Let’s just say it’s been a culture shock… But a very good one.
My first night here I was walking around town and even though it was about 27 degrees outside, everyone had a smile on their face. At first I thought their face was just frozen that way, but then I realized how everyone is so genuine and kind hearted. I made my way into a Telluride Sports store and an employee named Eric started talking to me like he had known me forever. For the first time in years I felt like I was at home. Instantly all of my nerves about moving into a new town vanished and now I’m one of those people who has a smile plastered on my face all day everyday.
This little town is so magical and very little people know just how amazing it is. The great moods are contagious, I have stunning views everywhere I turn, and I get to snowboard every single day if I want. My job here lasts until mid April and until then I’m going to explore the town of Telluride, the people, and share my traveling experiences with you. And for those of you how haven’t visited Telluride, maybe now you will. Enjoy!
gaahhhh you are so adorable! I love this, now I can keep up with your snow bunny charmed life in CO!! : )
